Funeral Photography
For me, a funeral is a day unlike any other.
It is a day when you feel how important one person has been, simply because everyone is there. Family, friends, people from different phases of a life — all together in one place.
There is something special about that.
I believe this day deserves to be seen as well. Not to make it more beautiful, but to preserve it. For later, for everyone who was there, and for everyone who could not be there.
Because this part of someone’s story is just as important as all the days that came before.

People come, people go. But memories captured in images remain.

Method
I am present where desired and keep my distance where needed.
On that day, I follow the course of the funeral in a documentary style and capture what happens.
I work with silent cameras and do not use flash.
I remain mindful of the situation; sometimes I am briefly visible, but always with respect for the moment.
Everything happens in consultation.
Beforehand, we align on what is important and what feels right for you.
